Ileana graduated as a PT from New York University in 1988 with a degree in Bachelor of Science and has been a treating Physical Therapist for 30 years. She worked as a lead therapist at St. Barnabas Medical Center treating adults and pediatric patients, including treating burn patients in NJ’s #1 Burn unit and out-patient clinic. Ileana then worked as a Senior Therapist in long-term, sub-acute, and assisted living facilities in Bergen and Hudson counties and was a Rehab director for a number of years.
Ileana decided to become a PT while in high school after her father suffered a cerebral aneurysm. She saw first- hand the power of the profession in assisting patients to get back to their highest level of function and independence. She has a special interest and skill in treating the geriatric population. She has further increased her knowledge through many continuing education courses and seminars on a variety of subjects including a variety of mental illnesses, Alzheimer’s disease, and Dementia.
Ileana is fluent in English and Spanish and is proficient in Italian. She is a mother of 3 sons and enjoys hobbies like reading, cooking, and photography.
